Wotte aload of quaffle

Surely these stories are aload of cobblers? Tony Adams, the man who linked himself to the Celtic job, the man who literally relegated Portsmouth single handedly is short-listed as the replacement manager for Southampton! You have got to be kidding.

A reign under Adams would feel like it's constantly raining. Adams has a uniquely philisophical approach to management that seemingly seems to turn allot of players off. He lost the dressing room at Fratton Park and to turn around Southampton's woes is a massively tall order for a manager with no shining managerial credentials. Yes, Adams was a great footballer but often footballers do not make great managers, especially those with a defensive background.

I can only hope there is no truth in this story, a manager like Neil Warnock would fit the bill for Southampton. Someone with fire, someone media savvy and a manager who is willing to make bold decisions and challenge the board. The sacking of Wotte for me was a harsh reality of what to expect from our new Swiss owners and already for me this has casted a negative light on the club within 24hrs of them taking over. Wotte should of been given a chance and I believe he could of tackled League One with gusto. At the end of the day though, the defeat to the Cherries was a tough pill to swallow, even if it was a friendly and it was signs just how bad things are on the playing field. Let's hope our new owners throw money at getting ourselves back into the Championship as soon as possible.

One step at a time, one step at a time.
