Although he could have probably swung a vacation in Ecuador, battlin' Brett Ormerod has vowed to bite back the pain and keep playing until the end of the season. The pain injections will probably help as well of course. Brett said: '' I have had some injections and those have helped but the pain is still there.
''I only hope that I don't need an operation. The knee does not feel too bad at the moment but it hurts afterwards and rest will help. We have some big games coming up and we need everyone available. I want to play in as many of those last eight games as possible.
''I am enjoying every minute in the Premiership and every minute at Southampton. I have settled in well and all I want to do is play my part in securing our Premiership status.''
As much as I appreciate Brett's efforts, I don't think that aggravating an injury is in anyone's best interests. Beattie and Pahars should start at least. I'd much rather see a fully fit Brett take the league by storm next season.
