A look ahead to Villa

With only a couple of games remaining, it's hard to see Saints getting another point. Regardless, On The Cross put on it's smiley face and enquired about our more successful opponents for the weekend, Aston Villa.

Michael Ault of our sibling site www.thevillan.co.uk gave us the followng hints on how things could turn out.

The departure of John Gregory must have been a surprise. Were you happy to see him go?

Well the football is awful, but I was disappointed to see him resign, but he must be fed up of battling with Doug Ellis for money.

Your new boss, Graham Taylor has said that he wanted Villa to be in Europe this season, and to build the side for champions league places in the coming years. Do you think that's possible and what needs to be done ?

We need another central defender, and right back to boost competition in defence, and in midfield we need a massive clearout and overhaul, we need world class players in midfield. The attack is good enough but as long we keep Angel, Vassell, Crouch, and give Bosko Balaban a chance and upcoming new signing Marcus Allback from Sweden. Basically we need to clear out the midfield.

Our ex-player Hassan Kachloul, is apparently unsettled at Villa. How would you describe his contribution to the team ?

Bright start, but poor overall. Villa fans doesn't rate him at all.

Who will be the Villa players to watch out for ?

I believe Thomas Hitzsperger will be the one to watch out for as he is a German U21 midfielder and the attackers.

Finally, your score prediction. We have a number of key players missing so I think it will be a 2-1 win for Villa.

I think we might nick it with 1-0 win as we are due to a win.
