Adam Lallana had given Southampton a first half lead but a 20 min spell in the second half saw three goals with Norwich levelling through Wes Hoolahan on 54 mins. David Connolloy put Saints back in front on 65 mins but the Canaries came back with an equaliser in the 75th minute from Stephen Hughes.
