Starting line-up
Davis - 8: after getting much stick this season, some deserved, some not, Davis deserves credit for a performance where he did not put a foot wrong all afternoon despite having little to do. One excellent punch to deny the opposition when he looked second favourite to get the ball.
Ostlund - 7: Lively in attack, committed in defence, this was a strong performance by 'Jesus is our right back'. Set up the first goal for Pele with a peach of a cross. Quieter in the second half.
Baird - 7: Strugged off his mistake against Palace with another commanding performance at the back. Rarely troubled by Leicester all afternoon and was always on hand to sweep up any danger.
Lundekvam - 8: Considering he was playing with a fractured cheekbone, this was a vintage performance from Claus who rolled back the years and strolled through the game, hardly giving Leicester a sniff. Let's hope he only misses the one game when he has his operation next week.
Bale - 7: Such are his high standards these days, this was a relatively quiet afternoon's work from Gareth Bale who caught the eye as much with his crunching tackles as with his trademark runs and free kicks. We would not be the same side without him and hanging onto him in the transfer window is priority number one.
Dyer - 7: Huge disappointment for Nathan who was making the most of a rare start in Surman's absence only to suffer a suspected fractured ankle after a nasty tackle from Danny Tiatto. Looked lively and quick on the right despite the muddy conditions and played his part in the first goal.
Pele - 8: 'There's only one Pele' and he enhanced his growing reputation as a classy midfielder with a dominant performance, full of pace, power and skill and capped with a well taken first ever goal for Saints.
Wright - 8: Impressive performance from Jermaine who bossed the midfield from the off, breaking up Leicester attacks with some crunching tackles and getting Saints moving with some neat passing.
Skacel - 5: Disappointing performance from fan's favourite Rudi who was never in the game. Fluffed an excellent chance on his weaker right foot and failed to shine in defence or attack. Saints have to find a way to get his magic left foot firing for us. Can't be easy being overshadowed by a 17 year old most weeks.
Wright-Phillips - 7: Hard working performance up front by Bradley who ran all afternoon and provided a good out for Saints down the channels. Unlucky not to score after a twisting and turning run and looked stronger on the ball than earlier in the season.
Rasiak - 6: No real clear-cut chances for Rasiak, so didn't catch the eye. Give him the service and he'll score the goals; don't, and he'll have one of these anonymous afternoons. No matter with midfielders chipping in with the goals today.
Substitutes
Prutton - 6: Came on for the injured Dyer in the first half and looked a long way short of fitness after a long time on the sidelines. Showed how much it meant to him to score what was a fortuitous goal with a memorable run along the Chapel Stand. Was this the last game we'll see from Prutts? Let's hope not, as he showed his versatility on the right and left of midfield.
Viafara - 6: On late and keen to impress, but managed to fluff his lines wasting a 3 on 2 and then charging down the right flank only to backheel with no Saints player within 30 yards of him.
McGoldrick - 6: Only one for a few minutes, but created one glorious chance from himself with an overhead flick that sent him clean through with time and space only to hit his shot straight at the goalkeeper. Will be frustrated not to have scored.
