Starting line-up

Miller – 7
: Calming presence at the back who tidied up well on Leicester's scrappy attacks. Safe pair of hands on Leicester's traditional set pieces.

Ostlund – 7: Another whole hearted display from fans favourite ‘Jesus is our right back' Ostlund. Made a number of important interceptions in the box although didn't enjoy his best game going forward.

Baird – 8: Yet another classy display from this season's most improved player, despite playing out of position again at centre back. Won almost every header and tackle against Leicester's muscular attack.

Claus – 8: Player of the season and easy to see why. Won header after header and tidied up with ease. Had the makings of a promising partnership with Baird if Burley wants to keep both Baird and Ostlund in the same side.

Bale – 7: Is he really just 16? Hugely promising display from the young left back. Has visibly grown in confidence since his first appearance and rarely lost the ball or outmuscled in defence.

Dyer – 6: Eye-catching start when he broke free in the box and struck the post with a venomous shot. Targeted by some brutal Leicester defending, but admirably picked himself up each time and kept on running.

Potter – 8: Great skill on the ball from the much improved Potter who is turning into a genuine playmaker. Will be a disappointment to see his return to Liverpool. Let's hope he brings his shooting boots next time.

Wright – 7: A real team player who tidied up in midfield, pressed, tackled, covered back and kept it simple. One to keep for next season.

Surman – 8: Quality display from the youngster who has really grown in confidence after his display at Palace. Great to see him grab the goal he has deserved of late, although to be fair even he couldn't miss an open goal from 3 yards!

Rasiak – 6: Combined well with Fuller and had a well taken goal ruled out for offside. Lack of pace cost him more sights of goal, but will continue to score goals for Saints at this level.

Fuller – 9: Man of the Match. Simply wonderful performance from Ricardo who showed pace, control, strength and desire in his best game so far for Saints, scoring one and setting up the other. Could have had a hat-trick if he had more confidence in his left foot. Great story to see him go from zero to hero with the crowd chanting his name throughout.

Substitutes

Prutton – 6: Welcome cameo from the popular David Prutton who clearly relished his 20 minutes after the frustration of his long layoff. Even managed a comedy dive with no one within ten yards of him.

Jones – 6: Little time to impress apart from a mighty leap when he came on. Control let him down when he worked a chance to get through on goal.

Cranie – 6: A solid display from the youngster when Lundekvam went off injured. Won his fair share of headers and looked calm when called upon.
