Sunday Rumour Mill: Keane, Elliott and Thompson

We've been linked with a move for Robbie Keane. Before we all get carried away, it's based on Keane coming down to see his old boss Strachan. The two were apparently at the Bournemouth friendly together, but other sources suggest that was not the case. Still, he'd make a great signing so let's hope Leeds are really trying to offload some of their squad. Leeds would want around £8 million for him and wages would be a definite problem.

A target a few years ago was Matt Elliott. Well, with Leicester going down Elliot has been linked once again. While I seem to remember us trying to sign him before, I think that the time has now passed and Matt is no better than what we have. Matt's a little into his twilight to make an effective addition to the team now.

Coventry midfielder David Thompson has been linked with us for £2.75 million. Thompson is probably Coventry's best player and deserves to be in the Premiership. He would be an excellent addition to the squad. Aston Villa and Everton are also having a look at the attacking midfielder.

We are still in the running for Hartlepool's Graeme Lee, Luton's Matthew Taylor and Coventry's Marcus Hedman.

On the way out could be Kevin Davies to West Brom, Dan Petrescu to Sheffield Wednesday (can't see them matching his Saints wages) and Mark Draper back to Leicester.
