On their way?

Skacel - going, going...
A fee and deal was agreed with Hertha Berlin, but the German club have not taken up their option to sign Rudi after a reasonably successful loan period. Missed out on being in the main shop window of the summer after failing to make a single apperance in the Euros despite making the Czech squad. Ipswich failed to agree terms with him after a £1m fee was agreed, leaving a move to another German club more likely.

Viafara - doh-doh-doh
Still no sign of the Columbian dynamo after international duty and another very likely to be on his way. Subject of numerous interest in the past from Championship rivals, it may well come down to finding a club willing to match his wages.

John - dear John letter
The hero of the run-in and this site's player of the season may be sacrificed depending on which offers we get for our other big name strikers, Rasiak and Saganowski. However, his ability to hold the ball up as a lone striker may well better suit the 4-3-3 variation that the Dutch duo are said to favour.

Saganowski - saga may be over
After a very poor second season, the popular Pole ironically made the Polish squad ahead of Rasiak and earned himself a starting spot with some assured and hard-working performances which have maintained his market value. His ability to play on the right as an attacker may well fit into the new system, but again it is a case of which offers we get in.

Rasiak - na-na-na-na-na...
A high earning player who looked a certainity to be on his way after a loan move to Bolton last season. However, he proved again that he is not quite a Premiership player and as a Lowe signing is believed to be one the club want to keep if they can get in decent offers for one or even two of the strikers above. Interest from other Championship clubs may yet lure him away.

Davies - shh...
A shoe-in for player of the season if he hadn't got injured during the run-in, Davies showed he has Premiership quality in his short spell in the team. However, his injuries may have been well timed keeping his a low profile and avoiding big offers from other clubs. Still relatively young and with the club short of defenders, he is definitely one we want to keep.

On their way in - the tumbleweed section

Saints are believed to have concluded their permanent signings with funds at a premium and the major requirement to cut costs and indeed no names have been linked with a move to Saints recently.

However, the club are undeniably short at the back and unless some of the youngsters can step up at left and right back in pre-season, expect to see a young Premiership squad player on loan at full back.

We are also due our annual Liverpool loanee if Benitez has forgiven us for not playing the inconsistent Hammill. Poortvliet and Wotte will also be looking to their knowledge of the Dutch market to pick us up a bargain.
