Rumour Mill: Le, Karpin, Lee and Song.

The rumour mill hardly seemed to get past second gear this season. First there was the World Cup capturing everyone'e attention. Then, just as the rumour rubbish was just getting up a head of drivel, it turns out no one has any money whatsoever (except Newcastle, Man City and Athletico Madrid).

With there being a transfer window too, the hacks have clearly given up trying and have tossed out a couple of old, mouldy rumours instead.

We're being lined with a move for Chinese international Le Weifeng for £500k. This is a case of mistaken identity as the original player we were having a look at was Le Tie.

Valery (Carping) Karpin is also still a link. The big moaner has still not moved on after the end of his time at Celta Vigo. Karpin is probably past his best now, and his attitude and moaning would make him a liability for the club. We already have Delgado for that thank you very much. Karpin is also said to interest Tottenham Hotspur, who are already well over their quota of ageing midfielders.

In other news, South Korean attacker Lee Chun-Soo, may have problems in joining up with the squad for the preseason tour of Sweden as there are work permit issues to be solved and it is reported that his club, Ulsan Hyundai are reluctant to let him depart.

Not that it's bothering Saints unduly as they have been linked with a second Korean international, Song Chung-gug. Having both at the club would ease the settling in process as well as adding talent to the Saints squad.
