Carew for Saints !
Valencia's John Carew is back on the rumour mill after his move to Fulham fell through due to failed medical. However, if he doesn't want to join Sunderland because they're not ambitious enough, what are the chances of him coming to St. Mary's. Exactly, none at all. Saints don't need a new striker with Beattie, Pahars, Delgado and Ormerod all vying for first team slots as well as a number of youth players coming through the ranks.
Davies to Sheffield United !
Kevin Davies has been linked with a loan move to Sheffield United in a bid to rediscover his form. The fact I accidentally omitted him from the list of strikers above should indicate his chances of appearing in Saints front line anytime soon. Davies can also play on the right of midfield but Paul Telfer has been putting in consistent performances so Davies may have to wait for his chance for some time. A loan move may be good for his confidence but I don't see Saints doing without him in the squad at the moment.
Taylor for Saints !
The rumour around Matthew Taylor seems to be going on for a while. The Luton town left back has been rated at around £2 million but as he's out of contract at the end of the season, don't expect a move by Saints anytime soon. Saints have Bridge, Ashford and Benali in that position so someone would have to make way before a signing is made.
