O'Conner for Saints !
Despite having played only five times for Hibernian, striker Garry O'Conner is being linked with a move to the Saints. Saints obviously watch a number of people and it could be too early to read much into this rumour which was probably prompted by the departure of Mark Peters.

Koumas for Saints !
Saints are apparently in the chase for Tranmere midfielder Jason Koumas. Koumas is easily the best player in Tranmere's side and a fee of £4 million could be expected. Koumas has 85 league appearances behind him notching up 15 goals in the process before this season.

Allback for Saints !
In one of the longest links in a while, Marcus Allback has still not left Hereenven yet. Saints were linked to him throughout last tear especially due to the clause in Allback's contract that lets him leave at the end of this season for £2 million. Saints are reportedly still monitoring the situation.

Baltacha for Saints !

Sergei Baltacha is confident that he is good enough to move form St. Mirren to Southampton. Serge said: "I now feel ready to step up to the Premiership. I would love to move here if it comes off."

A St Mirren spokesman said: "We know Gordon Strachan has been impressed and they want Sergei to go back down so that they can take a closer look."

Saints reserves are playing Arsenal this evening and Baltacha will be looked at closely before a decision is made.

Ripley for the Blades !
Stuart Ripley is still training with Sheffield United and is clearly hoping that a permanent move is made. Ripley said: "I'm hoping to play for their reserves against Birmingham on Wednesday. It's important to keep my options open."
