Wright on time

Only Saints could manage to injure three keepers simultaneously and we are grateful to West Ham for allowing him to move. In truth we should have moved earlier with Poke thrown into the deep end at a crucial time of the season.

Wright has barely featured for West Ham this season due to the form of Robert Green, playing just the three games in the League Cup, all against Championship opposition, including coincidentally Coventry themselves.

The loan is certainly a good one on paper with Wright a former England keeper whose form for Ipswich under a certain George Burley earned him a dream move to Arsenal.

Unfortunately, the dream move failed to pay off with Wright moving first to Everton and then West Ham in search of first team football. Wright is looking to get his career back on track at Saints and we have to hope that he can hit the ground running behind a defence fresh from leaking five goals to Hull.

It will be the battle of the on loan keepers with Man City's Kasper Schmeichel featuring between the sticks for Coventry.

Welcome and best of luck, Richard, you'll need it!
