Wotte hopes to keep Kelvin Davis

West Ham United are on verge of signing veteran Saints keeper Kelvin Davis. The 32 year old, who has also been linked with Leeds has already had a medical at Upton Park but Wotte will definately keep the shot stopper if finances became available to renew player contracts.

"I asked Kelvin about his situation and he has almost signed for West Ham," Wotte told the Southern Daily Echo.

"I hope the takeover will be done before Kelvin joins West Ham."

With a medical already taken place it would be difficult to see Kelvin not making the move, but Wotte's hopes remain. Questions will certainly be made on Davis's decision on a West Ham move, which will result in him most likely warming the bench. Is Davis happy to take the wages and sit on the bench? We'll certainly find out soon enough.
