Wallace joins Southend

Recently released Adam Wallace has joined Southend on a week's trial.
Southend are managed by ex-Norwich player Rob Newman who said: "These players have been told they can leave their respective clubs at the end of the season. But both Aston Villa and Southampton want to help them get fixed up

elsewhere and have decided to let them go out on trial.

"We will have a good look at both lads this week and if they come up to scratch they could be rewarded with a contract at Roots Hall.

"Neither player would command a fee and if they catch the eye they may have a future with Southend - it's a great opportunity for both of them."

Wallace has already had a trial with Walsall and hopefully this week will result in a permanent move.
