Tranmere moved four points clear of the League One relegation zone after Ian Thomas-Moore's late penalty gave them victory over Southampton.Rovers took the lead when Gareth Edds met Paul McLaren's free-kick and Marlon Broomes nodded home from close range.
Saints levelled when Adam Lallana's shot was blocked but Lee Barnard followed up to find the bottom corner.
Southampton had the best chances after the break but Thomas-Moore won it from the spot after Edds was impeded.
