Surman completes Wolves move

Both Wolves and Southampton can confirm the deal officially on their club websites. Whether Mick McCarthy can keep Wolves in the Premier League after their return to the top flight remains to be seen, though Surman isn't a bad transfer by any means.

The sale of Surman can only be described as a measure to keep the club afloat for as long as possible, with administrator Fry giving Saints a grave warning that a deal for a takeover of the club must be completed by the end of the week. With this news in mind it could well be a busy week of outgoing players. Kelvin Davis is expected to leave on a free transfer on July 1st with his move anticipated to be West Ham (the mind baffles).

Surman made 133 appearances for Southampton which is a combination of his reserve & league games. He will be best remembered for his self demolition of Barnsley in 2007 as Southampton won 5-2, Surman scoring a hatrick at the time.
