Southampton predicted lineup vs Leicester City - Premier League

Southampton bring a merciful halt to their dire second half of the season with a Premier League trip against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Since a 2-0 victory over Norwich City at the end of February, Southampton have won just one Premier League match, losing eight. Only Championship-bound Watford have collected fewer points than the sinking Saints in this time frame.

Here's the XI Ralph Hasenhuttl may deploy to stop the rot.

1. Southampton predicted lineup vs Leicester City (4-4-2)

Alex McCarthy (GK) - With Fraser Forster a doubt through various aches and pains, Hasenhuttl may be forced to turn to a goalkeeper that hasn't appeared in a Premier League win since November.

Yan Valery (RB) - While both Tino Livramento and Romain Perraud recover from long-term injuries, Valery may be afforded a rare outing.

Jan Bednarek (CB) - One of the career-high four goals Bednarek has scored this season came in the reverse fixture against Leicester.

Mohammed Salisu (CB) - The buzzing defensive presence is among the Premier League's top five players for tackles, interceptions and yellow cards.

Kyle Walker-Peters (LB) - The former Tottenham full-back has faced Leicester more often than any other club in his senior career (seven games).

Stuart Armstrong (RM) - Since recovering from a calf injury in winter, Armstrong has appeared in every Premier League match post-Christmas.

James Ward-Prowse (CM) - The club's captain, leading scorer and joint-top assist provider has only been kept on the sidelines through suspension this season.

Oriol Romeu (CM) - Southampton's midfield-ratter is just four bookings short of breaking Luke Young's Premier League record for yellow cards without ever being sent off (62).

Nathan Redmond (LM) - Buoyed by his first Premier League goal in midweek since April 2021, Redmond hasn't found the net away from home for almost two years.

Armando Broja (ST) - The Chelsea loanee has gone 13 Premier League games without scoring.

Che Adams (ST) - The Scotland international put his side 2-1 up against Leicester at St Mary's earlier this season before Southampton ceded the lead for the second time that night.
