Southampton predicted lineup vs Coventry City - FA Cup

Southampton welcome Championship side Coventry City to St Mary's Stadium for an FA Cup fourth round tie on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints conceded just one goal in the entirety of last season's FA Cup; Kelechi Iheanacho's winner in the semi-final after four consecutive clean sheets. Southampton have already exceeded that parsimonious tally one game into the current campaign but managed to progress past Swansea City with a 3-2 third round win.

Here's the XI Ralph Hasenhuttl may deploy to recover that steely streak in the competition.

Southampton predicted lineup vs Coventry City - FA Cup

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Fraser Forster (GK) - A three-time winner of the Scottish Cup with Celtic, no goalkeeper kept more clean sheets in last season's FA Cup than Forster.

Jan Valery (RB) - Tino Livramento's return to training has undoubtedly been a hefty boost, but Hasenhuttl may resist the urge to toss his first-choice right back straight into action after six weeks out.

Jack Stephens (CB) - Having fallen down the club's Premier League pecking order, the 28-year-old may be granted a first appearance since the previous round of the same competition.

Jan Bednarek (CB) - With a trio of goals in the last two months, only Southampton's set piece specialist skipper has outscored his teammate since December.

Romain Perraud (LB) - Ligue 1's most prolific assist provider from defence last season is yet to get off the mark for Southampton, a reflection of the decline that was signposted by an expected assists figure of 3.1, considerably lower than his actual tally of seven goals created (per FBref).

2. Midfielders

Nathan Redmond (RM) - Southampton's leading assist provider has exclusively created goals for his teammates at St Mary's, the venue of their upcoming cup clash.

James Ward-Prowse (CM) - 13 of the Saints skipper's last 14 goals for the club have come from set pieces - be that a penalty or direct free kick.

Oriol Romeu (CM) - Despite racking up 84 career yellow cards (including 63 at Southampton alone), the former Barcelona academy player has never been sent off.

Moussa Djenepo (LM) - Following his return from AFCON, the Mali international may be in line for his first club start since October.

3. Forwards

Che Adams (ST) - In the two and a half seasons since Adams convinced Southampton to part ways with £15m after a 22-goal Championship campaign with Birmingham, the Scotland international has netted just 17 for the Saints.

Armando Broja (ST) - Despite towering over most of the division at 6'3, the 20-year-old has lost more aerial duels than any other Premier League player (106 according to FBref).
