Saints Surman off to Wolves in £1.5 million deal

Andrew Surman has confirmed to be leaving Southampton in a £1.5 million pound move to Molyneux. Newly promoted Wolves will be the new home for the talented Surman who will be expected to feature in the starting 11 for Wolves opening game of the season.

The sale of Surman can only be described as a measure to keep the club afloat for as long as possible, with administrator Fry giving Saints a grave warning that a deal for a takeover of the club must be completed by the end of the week. With this news in mind it could well be a busy week of outgoing players. Kelvin Davis is expected to leave on a free transfer on July 1st with his move anticipated to be West Ham (the mind baffles).

Surman made 133 appearances for Southampton which is a combination of his reserve & league games. He will be best remembered for his self demolition of Barnsley in 2007 as Southampton won 5-2, Surman scoring a hatrick at the time.

Rumours in London confirm that Roy Hodgson maybe interested in Morgan Schneiderlin though official reports are yet to be confirmed.

Saints fans hopefully can breathe a little easier come the end of the week, but we're in the dark just as much as the Daily Echo (except we won't be making news for the sake of it, when there is no substance)
