Saints sign Hall

It was at Coventry where Hall had played under Strachan and so the manager knows Hall's capabilities. Since I criticised the signing of Paul Williams I'll just keep my mouth shut over this one.

Hall has come in to provide cover to Wayne Bridge down the left. This surely signals the end of Francis Benali's palying career at St. Mary's which is a shame. Hopefully he'll stay at the club in a coaching capacity rather than play in a lower league.

"It does not mean we are about to sell Wayne Bridge but we have been a bit short of cover down that flank so this is a good deal for us. Gordon knows him well and he will be a useful addition for us."
