They now lie 15 points off the top six and next weekend face a Leeds side battling for automatic promotion, but Pardew knows his men are capable of raising their game against the Yorkshiremen.
"We have to bounce back against the best team in the league," said Pardew.
"But we've proved against Norwich and against Huddersfield that we can beat the best, so we are looking forward to that."
