Saints boss preaches about Papa

Rickie Lambert put Southampton on their way before Waigo converted from close range to complete a 2-0 victory and extend bottom club Stockport's winless run to 15 games.

"Papa came on and he helped us link the play. We really needed a goal at that time because it had been the best period in the match for us, " said Pardew.

"It did not go our way in the first half and that affected one or two players. We were trying to pass our way through them and it does not work like that in professional football.

"Papa has got a lot of quality and we have got some big games coming up and he might feature. On his day he can take us to that next level. He is a bit of a maverick on the ball and he has got great energy around the penalty area."
