Saint Juste in

The signing is something of a surprise with the transfer window closed. St Juste was on a month-to-month contract at Darlington which had expired, hence he was able to join Saints outside of the transfer window as a free agent.

St Juste was voted Darlington’s young player of the season last year and scored their goal of the season with a mazy run and emphatic finish against Bristol City that was reminiscent of Ryan Giggs’ famous F.A. Cup goal against Arsenal. You can view it here and judge for yourself.

Aged 19, he is a skilful winger who has an eye for goal. After the signing of Kosowski and the emergence of Dyer and Walcott, there are question marks over how often he might actually play. Although Saints were linked to him over the course of the summer, even issuing a denial on the club website, it seemed unlikely he would end up at Saints after the close of the transfer window.

No doubt Simon Clifford played a major part in his move and as a free signing on a short-term contract Saints will feel they have nothing to lose.
