"It was an unbelievable game, we were all over the place defensively," Redknapp said after the 4-3 home win which lifted Saints out of the bottom three in the table.
"You begin to think 'how many goals have you got to score to win a game'?
"We played some great football but we conceded bad goals. But we showed terrific character to keep coming back.
"A draw would have been no good for us today, we needed the three points."
