Prices reduced but will it be enough?

With around 18,000 tickets sold already, the club are hoping that the reduction to £15 a ticket and £5 for concessions will attract a crowd of well over 20,000.

Despite a terrible season, the atmosphere has generally been good at St Mary's this season, a testament to the hard core of supporters that the club will have to fall back on should the worst happen and the club be relegated to the third tier.

Ironically, one of the quietest times of the season was the first half against Preston as the crowd sat in disbelief at the 3-0 scoreline!

With a decent crowd behind them, the hope is that the players will be inspired to eke out a vital win against lowly Charlton, but Saints in recent seasons have a habit of blowing golden chances when presented to them.

With a game in hand and two points in the drop zone, three points would present a welcome reward, but with those above us fighting for their lives and, significantly, strengthening with loan signings from the teams above them we still have it all to do.

With the threat of administration still looming, we simply can't afford not to.
