Niemi to extend Saints stay ?

There's little doubt that Niemi is a key player in the Saints lineup. That he has been linked with the likes of Arsenal simply underlines his talent and it's no surprise that the club want to keep hold of him for as long as possible.

If Saints are to finally consolidate a top ten position in the league over the next few seasons, then Niemi will be a vital part of the team.

The former Rangers and Hearts player is already rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the club's history, and Saints would struggle to find an able replacement.
