"Martin Djetou is here training with us and we will see how it goes," Saints boss Harry Redknapp told the clubs official website.
"He had a problem with his contract at Parma so he is a free agent. He was on loan at Fulham last season and he is a good player.
"He can play midfield or defence and is the type of strong, aggressive player we are looking for.
"I spoke to Christian Damiano about him and he recommended him very highly."
