Saints already have a player who should be going to the World Cup in Wayne Bridge. But why not two. Chris Marsden Football Genius has had an exceptional season for the Saints and this form was recently topped off with a quite superb solo effort against Ipswich in Saints 3-1 away win. Manager Gordon Strachan says there could be a place for CMFG in the international squad. Strachan said: "Chris Marsden was absolutely excellent. I made him my captain and I couldn't have asked for more from him.

"England don't have too many left-sided players. He is more than good enough to play for me at Southampton as captain, but it is up to others to decide if he is good enough to play for his country."
