Lundekvam loses out

Claus Lundekvam has been consistently outstanding in the Southampton defence over the last tow seasons. So it's a shock that he fears that his international future is over. Claus was picked in Norway's squad against Belgium last week but wasn't in the team. Claus is disappointed and can't understand why he was left out. Claus said:

"It means a lot to me to play for Norway but I am beginning to wonder if I am not wanted. I was very disappointed to be left out," he said.
"The defenders picked ahead of me cannot have been in on what they have done for their clubs because they are not playing at the moment.
"I feel that if I was not in this squad then I might never get in because I think I have been pretty consistent."

Hopefully the coach was just trying out something different and that Claus has nothing to worry about. Obviously he wants to make the most of his form and I'm sure he'll play for Norway again.
