Lambert worry for Saints

Southampton hot-shot Rickie Lambert is one of a host of injury concerns for the clash with Plymouth. The striker, who thumped 37 goals last term, has been struggling with a groin injury during pre-season and will be handed a late fitness check. Winger Jason Puncheon is doubtful with an ankle injury, midfielder Adam Lallana has a knee problem and Morgan Schneiderlin, Dan Seabourne, Joseph Mills and Lee Holmes are all carrying knocks. Boss Alan Pardew will definitely be without new signing Frazer Richardson after the defender suffered a dislocated shoulder. Danny Butterfield will instead make his debut at right-back with a third summer recruit, Ryan Dickson, starting on the left. Youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has figured regularly in pre-season and could be involved.
