Keepers Jersey Conundrum

First choice stopper Antti Niemi is available again following a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury but such has been the the form of Paul Smith during the Finland internationals absence that Redknapp has a difficult choice to make ahead of the quarter final tie at St Mary's this weekend.

"Niemi or Smith, it's a nice problem to have," the Saints boss has said.

"When Antti got injured I thought we were in trouble and it was a little bit scary for me to know what to do.

"But Paul has come through with flying colours. I did not think about getting in someone on loan. We were always going to go with Paul.

"But at one point it did not look good on the goalkeeping front because our third choice, Alan Blayney, was also injured.

"We threw Paul in at the deep end and he has not disappointed. It's a nice position to be in.

"I hope Paul takes things on from here, but I think he knows that five or six games does not make a goalkeeper. Antti has been in full training all week and has looked sharp but he has not had any games.

"I am not sure what to do but there will be a few changes for sure from last week because we have problems in other areas."
