Joining the Saints Trust is just a click away

I have to admit, I've been meaning to join the Saints Trust for weeks, only like many, I suspect, I just haven't quite got round to it. The cause was noble enough, but as part of the e-generation, the chore of printing out a form, writing out a cheque and posting the letter simply meant I kept putting it off.

Today, however, came the welcome news that the Saints Trust are accepting online applications and payments. So, in the interests of journalism and to tick off one of my to do list, I did just that a few minutes ago.

The process is quick and easy:

- Go to the Saints Trust website
- Click on Membership
- Read what Membership entails
- Decide that fans should have a say in the future of our club
- Decide whether you want a years membership at £10 or a lifetime membership at £200
- Click on 'Buy Now'
- Fill in a few details in a form. Click 'Submit'
- Fill in your payment details and you're done.
- You will receive a confirmation email from payment and the details will appear on your bank statement as 'Payment Southampton'

There, painless enough, wasn't it? A small step for you, but a giant leap for Saints fans.

The Saints Trust have also purchased their first shares today, buying the historically significant number of 1885, the date that Southampton football club was founded by its fans. With the total shares also proxied to them, the trust now holds nearly 1% of the club's shares. A great start and a significant day in the ownership of Southampton football club.
