Shea, 19, has joined for one month and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Rochdale. The young 'keeper is known for his superb shot-stopping ability, and he has recently signed a contract extension with the Gunners, who rate the youngster highly.

Earlier this season James was drafted into the senior England squad by Fabio Capello, to help the players with their training preparations at Arsenal's London Colney training base ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria.

He can represent both England and the Republic of Ireland at international level, but is yet to play at any level for either nation.

Prior to Manuel Almunia's recent return from injury, he also provided valuable first-team back-up to current number one, Wojciech Szczesny at the Emirates Stadium.

Bialkowski picked up a knock in training, and is currently being assessed, whilst fellow Saints glovesman Tommy Forecast is currently on loan at Conference side Eastbourne Borough.
