Fuller loan move

Fuller's Saints career has been one of frustration for player and fans alike. He arrived as Saints' only cash outlay in the summer for £90,000 from Portsmouth and had the unenviable task of filling the considerable boots of Crouch, Phillips and Camara.

A Redknapp favourite, he has shown he has ability both on the ball and to hold it up, but little confidence in front of goal and his lack of goals and tendancy to hold onto the ball too long led to sections of the crowd turning against him.

Ironically, with Theo and Quashie having left in the transfer window, he is Saints' joint leading scorer with a measly three goals in sixteen starts and eight substitute appearances. That says all you need to know about our problems in front of goal.

Clearly, the new manager does not rate him as he is one of the few not to have had much of a chance to impress under George Burley. With Saints struggling to hold up the ball up front, until the arrival of Rasiak, his stock among fans has actually risen of late, particularly for his willingness to wait for the chance that has yet to come rather than leave in the transfer window.

The lack of first team football means he will hopefully benefit from a run of games at Ipswich and will look to return fit and in form to compete for a place in the team.
