Oxlade-Chamberlain, 17, has attracted interest from Premier League clubs, and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year alongside Fonte and three other Saints players.
Fonte told the PFA: "Everyone knows he has great talent, but above all that he's a great kid. He wants to learn, he listens to you and he wants to do better for himself. He's only going to go up.
"He already plays for a big club, but there's no doubt he's going to play for a very big club in the Champions League soon. I have no doubt about that, although one more year at Southampton would be good."
