Fabrice on the future

It would be fair to say that Fabrice Fernandes hasn't had the best of seasons with Southampton. While showing a few nice touches he has failed to really create on the left flank and provide adequate cover for Wayne Bridge. As a result, Chris Marsden, normally a central midfielder, has been moved to give the side balance. The good newsis that Fabrice realises his less than fantastic start and is sure he can improve upon it next season. While I'm reminded of Stuart Ripley saying the same thing, Fabrice said: "I think it is normal to take time to adjust," he said. "It is not always possible to play at your best straight away when you arrive at a new club. You need two or three games to get better.

"I have been with Southampton for four months now and I have been happy with my form. My game is getting better and better and I hope to progress even further next season."

He added: "I think that next season will be easier for me. Now I know everybody, there is a good atmosphere at the club, people are very nice to me and I am happy. The best is yet to come."
