The Saints defender, who has made just under 400 appearances for the club, has been told that he will not be given a new contract when his present deal runs out this summer.

"I've been speaking to the manager but leaving my options open at the moment," Dodd told BBC Radio Solent.

"I have a family so we're not going to uproot. I'd commute or get a flat.

"I'd like things sorted before the weekend."

Dodd recently spent a short time on loan at Plymouth and Bobby Williamson is thought to be keen on signing the 34-year-old.
