Cort & McCann linked with Saints move

With Saints a little short up front, the hacks attention have been drawn towards a move for Carl Cort. This could be because they have got bored linking us with Kevin Phillips or because they owe Bobby Robson a favour, and are helping him to offload surplus players.

Despite a promising start to his career, Cort has become sidelined through injury. He is therefore hardly the sort of player we would be looking to bring to the club. The last thing we need is for Cort, Delgado and Pahars all in the treatment room.

Saints look unlikely to bring in another striker if there's a chance that Delgado and Pahars could return.

In other news, we can celebrate our annual link with Neil McCann. McCann, the star of many a previous rumour mill is once again on the move from Ibrox. Apparently.

McCann is once again the solution to our left midfield slot and will probably continue to be linked as such until he's seventy. He's also Scottish which the hacks believe will give him an instant rapport with Gordon Strachan.

Will Gordon bring wee Neil to the club, when so many of our previous managers haven't bothered. Only time, and undoubtedly lots of rubbish stories will tell.
