Chris Marsden FG rewarded for his great season

Chris Marsden picked up his trophy for Supporters Player of The Season at half time in the game against Newcastle. Marsden was delighted with the award saying: "I picked up the trophy and looked at some of the names already on there - Mike Channon, Kevin Keegan, Alan Ball, Alan Shearer, Tim Flowers and of course Matthew Le Tissier. It is like a Who's Who of English football!"It would be some team if you put all the previous winners together in their prime. It would be a title-winning side - and to think that I am now there with them is mind-blowing.

"I won Players Player of the Year at Huddersfield but this is the first time I have won a fans' Player of the Season trophy and I cannot tell you how much it means to me.

"I had read on the web that I was supposedly out in front but I did not believe it until I got my hands on the trophy and it was such a thrill.

"I am really flattered especially when you think of all the other good players we have. It is a great honour but I would still swap it for playing today and getting three points!"
