Belated Happy Birthday Agustin, Now *!$* off

His brother Marcos said: "English supporters are cold people who didn't even say anything to Agustin on his birthday. They ignored that kind of thing. My brother hasn't had success here because he hasn't felt well on the personal side."

The man must have the mind of an infant if this was a real reason for him to go AWOL. It is just another piece of evidence to show that he has been pampered so much in Ecuador, that he can't function away from there and certainly not as an adult.

Delgado's agent Eric Manasse said: "A face-to-face meeting has been arranged so the various parties can have a frank and honest discussion.

"Our sincere wish is that Delgado can continue at Southampton and contribute to the team's success.

"If that's not possible, we'll have to look for another solution."

Unless Rupert Lowe brings a big birthday cake and some cards, Delgado's future at the club may be in serious doubt. Perhaps he should go the extra mile and buy some lego to keep Agustin happy.

Considering we've only seen him for five minutes, Delgado has a lot of cheek to suddenly label English supporters as cold.

The good news is that Marcos added: "My brother has had offers from a team from London and Birmingham - in addition to another offer from Real Betis."

I'd take all this with a grain of salt. I can't see any other club paying over £3 million for a big cry baby. Particularly no other English club. Southampton should hold out for as much as they can get for Delgado, and not be pressurised into releasing him for next to nothing.

Meanwhile Strachan will have no qualms about selecting others ahead of Agustin until he is fit and has roved himself to the other players and coaching staff.

It will be a real test of Delgado's character between now and the end of the season, and I wouldn't be surprised if we had to suffer another tantrum along the way.
