James Beattie is on the road to recovery from his ankle dislocation. Fans were relieved that there was no break after James fell heavily in the game against Manchester United. Now it seems that James could return to action as soon as February 23rd in Saints game against Bolton although a lengthier layoff may be on the cards. On the injury James said: "It was difficult to do anything for the first ten days but I'm out of plaster now and things are looking good.

"I could hardly do anything at first. That was hard for Sarah, who had to do a lot for me, but she was quality.

"Playing on my PlayStation helped to ease the boredom. I had so much time on my hands I completed Grand Theft Auto 3 and nearly finished Max Payne as well.

"Harry and Molly, my two Chinese fighting dogs, kept me company while I was stuck in the house, but now I'm able to get out a bit more and do a lot more fitness work which is a relief.

"The boss wanted me to go to La Manga but I was still in plaster then, so that wasn't possible.

"But I've begun jogging and will soon go to the gym and do swimming, so things are looking up."

"No one's put a date on when I'm going to be back but whoever said I was only two weeks away is being a bit optimistic,"

"I don't really want to say when I think I'll be ready because that'll put pressure on me.

"The lads have been doing well without me, which is good because it means that I don't have to rush back.

"But I should have fully recovered before the game at my old club Blackburn on April 1st.

"When I'm fit it'll be up to me to work harder and make sure I pick up from where I left off."

"You get highs and you get lows in life - and getting this injury was a definite low, because it couldn't have come at a worst time.

"It's definitely the worst of my career, but I have to be pleased in some ways, because I thought it was a break at first.

"Luckily it was only dislocated, so I must have drunk my milk when I was younger!

"The physios have been great and now it's just a case of strengthening my ankle and teaching it to stabilise itself again."
