Beattie - Out for 2 months
There is still a dgree of uncertainty over how long Saints arget man, James Beattie will be out of action. Beattie sufferd a dislocated ankle having landing awkwardly in the game against Manchester United.

The extent of the injury will be determined by the amount of ligament damage Beattie has suffered. Saints physio on Beattie's injury: "The first X-rays showed no break, but we may need to do more as a precaution just to make sure.

"Ligament damage can be just as bad so we are hoping that is not the case. It is still too early to make a guess at how long he will be out but it will be several weeks.

"We need to let the swelling subside before we can make a more accurate judgement."

A two month lay off will enable new signings Delgado and Ormerod a chance to get plenty of first yeam action. Delgado, in particular has impressed although Ormerod has done well in a number of brief substitute appearances.
