Strachan's has a tiff with the team.

Manager Gordon Strachan was far from pleased with his sides disgraceful performance against Everton. So irate was Strachan, in fact, that he couldn't bring himself to talk with his team until the following Tuesday. Strachan is now back on speaking terms with them and said: "We needed a cooling off period after the Everton game. It was like a tiff but we've kissed and made up now.

"It was Tuesday when we got round to speaking to each other but we're now back as the best of mates again."

"We've tried a few new things in training this week and have concentrated on making the sessions shorter and sharper," he added.

"I must learn from what happened against Everton and I hope the players are doing the same because the manager can't take all the responsibility.

"I think there should be an anger amongst the players. I know there is inside me. Hopefully they will make people proud at Aston Villa.

"There will be a lot of people going up to try and enjoy themselves and we will certainly try and make it a good game for them."

"The performance against Everton was just not good enough and I've told the players just that.

"I've had an excellent response from the players on the whole this season since I came in but that performance wasn't acceptable.

"They know that they let themselves down against Everton and it's up to them to make it up to the fans in their performances between now and the end of the season."

"I consider myself very lucky to have inherited the players that I have. The previous managers here left me with a lot of talent.

"I'm looking to bring in up to three players in the close season but I don't think too much needs doing. I just need to do a bit of fine-tuning."

"I think there should be anger inside the players after what happened last weekend. I know there is an anger inside me and hopefully they feel the same.

"A lot of people are going up for the game to enjoy themselves and I want to make sure that we give them a performance to be proud of.
