Ginger Reaction - Bolton

Here's what Gordon had to say about yesterday's draw at Bolton.

"We controlled the game in the first half. They changed it in the second half and used their power and height.I felt we coped with that quite well. We were under a bit of pressure but you expect that," said Gordon.

"We did a lot right but a lack of professionalism at the end just cost us two points.

"It hurts badly especially when you have a long journey in front of you like we do."

One big plus point had to be the performance of Antti Niemi. It isn't just the saves, it's the increased confidence you can see in our defence knowing that he's there. Gordon didn't quite see it like that, saying: "He made one exceptional save, the rest you would say were routine," said Strachan.

Sam Allardyce was more positive about Niemi than Strachan saying:"I would have been sick and totally dejected if we had got nothing out of the game.

"But that's how cruel the Premiership can be to you. Good performances are always important but will never be as crucial as results.

"After two successive defeats it was a big test of character for us today and our attitude was spot on.

"We created a lot of chances and should have won the game but full marks to their goalkeeper."
