Lowe looks for good start

Sorry, but as the bland plastic media machine chugs up to speed for the new season all we have is our leader saying that it would be rather handy to get a few points on the board sharpish.

The hacks caught up with Rupes cleaning out some dusters in the saints youth Academy.

"It will be important we start well," said Lowe trying out his sternest headmaster's expression (the one he uses at the Premiership chairman meetings). "You know the old saying, you get the reputation of being an early riser and you can stay in bed all day."

See, even Rupert uttering the most banal of comments is a learning experience as I've never heard that saying in my life.

"It's important we put the history of being slow starters behind us," said Lowe echoing the sentiments of thirty odd thousand Saints fans.

Having educated us in old adages and then some history, Lowe switched tact cunningly to squeeze some arithmetic into the lesson.

"The higher you go up the table, the more difficult it becomes and there are plenty of teams who will want to emulate what we have done so it will be tough."

Yes indeed, the more points we have, the higher up the league we're likely to finish.

What ? You knew that already. Oh, well. No point reading this then is there ?
