Lowe Down on Saints poor start

"The club is not even looking at the table until 12 games into the season," said Lowe

"For the moment we are concerned with performances. The team performed well at West Brom, well against Middlesbrough, well against Tottenham, well against Chelsea and I thought they did well against Liverpool.

"I was most concerned with the performance against Everton, but that is one of the quirks with football - you can play well and get nothing, but then play badly and get three points.

"If you look at things another way, we are only four points off Europe!"

Lowe was also quitepositive concerning our strikers, despite only the one goal from them, and that from a penalty. Lowe said: "Our two top strikers from last season are still with us and are proven players in the Premiership. We also bought in Brett Ormerod and Agustin Delgado last season and there is also Kevin Davies.

"So, overall, I would say that we have a powerful strikeforce and it is just a question of them finding their scoring boots as I am sure they will."
